KABIR CENTRE AIMS TO PROMOTE THE ARTISTIC DIVERSITY OF OUR GREAT CITY OF MONTREAL WITH THE ‘PLURI-CITY’ SPRING TIME PROJECT FEATURING A VARIETY OF SOUTH ASIAN ARTS
Event organized in partnership with Le Festival Accès Asie, Kabir Centre is pleased to present two Indian artists of international fame in a unique concert at Salle Bourgie of Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. This concerts brings together Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and Pandit Subhen Chatterjee who are coming to us all the way from Kolkata in India. Creator of the Mohan Veena through modification of the Hawaiian Guitar and the winner of Grammy along with Ry Cooder, Bhatt has charmed audiences wherever he performs, with his pure, delicate and passionate music. Leading disciple of the legendary of Pandit Ravi Shankar, Bhatt belongs to the exclusive circle of musicians tracing their roots back to the great Tansen, the court musician of the Moghul Emperor Akbar. He has travelled around North-America, Europe, the Middle-East and India and has been acclaimed everywhere. He will be accompanied on percussion by Pandit Subhen Chatterjee, an explosive tabla player who has collaborated with the greatest of musicians and has produced more than 30 CD's.
