A Musical

Gurbir
Singh,
Jagmohan
Singh (lead singer) and Malkeet Singh
Sikh
religious music is called Gurmat Sangeet. Its origins date back to the
beginning of Sikhism five hundred years ago.
The Holy Book of Sikhs,
the Guru Granth Sahib consists entirely of poetry, sung in 62 Ragas and
their variants,
out of which the Sikh Gurus created 34. The hymns in
the holy book were composed not only by Sikh Gurus, but also
by Sikh
devotees, Hindu Bhagats and Muslim Sufis.
The
beauty of this sacred music will be presented by two groups of
excellent singers from India, now on a short stay
in Montreal, Canada.
